Join the award winning Dolphin Watch team on a dolphin swimming or viewing cruise into the Marlborough Sounds. The dolphins that frequent this beautiful area include dusky dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins and the rare Hector's dolphins. The calm, clear waters of the Marlborough Sounds makes swimming with dolphins an amazing and safe experience.

Being up close to these gentle creatures is a very thrilling experience whether its cruising along silently with them or watching their playful leaps out of the water doing aerial somersaults you'll come away absolutely spell bound by the end of this trip.

Dolphin Watch is the only Department of Conservation permit holder in the Marlborough Sounds and with their highly trained guides getting up close to the marine life is their specialty.

Not only is it likely that you will interact with dolphins on this trip you will also see a wide range of bird life such as gannets, penguins and shearwaters as well as New Zealand fur seals. Occasionally orca or killer whales come into the Marlborough Sounds and that is an opportunity not to be missed.

Once the dolphins have been located you begin cruising along with them while the swimmers get ready and the conditions allow. The swimmers then enter the water for an experience of a life time. Dolphin Watch are the only licensed dolphin swimming operators in the Marlborough Sounds meaning that you will have the dolphins all to your self. That's right, no other swimmers around.

All equipment is provided such as wetsuits, flippers, mask and snorkel and if you do not wish to swim you can view them up close from a prime position on the boat. There is complimentary tea and coffee as well as cookies to indulge in and sea sickness is not an issue as the boat is a large, stable catamaran and ideal for this type of cruising.
